It seemed a shame not to try and give it a brand-new image so we attached it to a new backing with decorative threadwork and used tiny seed beads to embellish around the original brooch

Yellow Military Pips Necklace on Gold Chain Vintage purple and yellowI love the clean designs and colours of old military pips and was pleased to find these yellow examples in yellow ochre. The central four pointed yellow star on khaki is listed as CCF (Combined Cadet Force) which was officially formed in 1948. The remaining pips are from the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC). I have reinvented them into charms for this gold coloured metal chain. Each pip has been finished with a felt backing and has a cream hand beaded edge.
